The Worst Shopping Time of the Year

Well Christmas is quickly approaching and that means Christmas shopping. I hate large crowds and most of all I hate stinky perfume counters. Last weekend the hubbo and I bought a new bed. (It is awesome!) However, by the time we left the bed department the perfume counter was all stinked up. I had to hold my breath, jog discreetly to the perimeter of the building and make my way to the door. Meanwhile, the hubbo keeps talking, but I don't respond because I'm holding my breath. I know if I smell too much I'll have a wild headache for the rest of the day. So the hubbo thought I was having a problem, but outside when I explained to him the situation, he just gave me the blank stare... I really married a great guy, he doesn't always understand me, but he doesn't think I'm crazy either.

The problem is you can't regulate or defend yourself against smells. Think about it, if there is a loud noise you can cover your ears. However, when something smells awful you can only hold your breath or pinch your nose for so long. My son use to crave smelling things, all kinds of things, like raw seafood at the market... Now he doesn't do that anymore. I wonder what would have happened if I had OT when I was a kid. Now I'm too chicken to attempt it.

I swear I'm allergic to shopping, but not only do we have the holiday season but two birthdays in December - on line is the only way to go.
Cheers

I'm with Maddy. Online. We tried for a quick trip to Target this afternoon and the traffic and the aggressive driving and the cranky people were over the top. I'm done.

I'm starting to dread my weekly trips to Wal-Mart to do my grocery shopping. It'll be a zoo now with Christmas approaching! I'm an on-line gift shopper too.

I have to say eBay wins hands down in our house for christmas shopping - we avoid stinky stores, crowds, toy displays, and potential meltdowns all in one go!!!

I have never liked shopping, bookstores excluded. I do most of my purchases online and just do the weekly grocery store and very occasional trip for clothing. Amazon, Christian Book Distributors, eBay, and BestWebBuys are my best friends during the Christmas season . . .

Last Thanksgiving, my glasses BROKE! Ack! I am legally half-blind without them, so going without my only pair for two weeks while they get another set of coke bottles ready is NOT an option. All of the optometrists in town were closed the day after Thanksgiving. So, my husband drove me to the mall on the worst day of the year to be stuck at the mall. We did strategic strike--straight to the eye doctor and straight out. They found a way to reattach the broken piece to tide me over until the new glasses arrived.

It is nice to hear an adult having nose issues too. I still have to hold my breath near the end of brushing my teeth to avoiding gagging!

This year for Christmas we are creating an online scrapbook and then getting them printed for the important people (like family or non-online people).

I try and avoid shopping too!

I need to get organized and buy more online. I am getting better at buying things as I find them during the year and putting them in a box for b-days and Xmas.

Goal for shopping is to be done by the first week in Dec.

I hate shopping!

Hopefully, I will be able to do most of mine on the internet this year. Noddy and Niles said they want a "scientific Christmas",
(We are weird-we pick themes). So I know I need a microscope and a telescope and some kind of cooking/kitchen set hmmmm.....

Christmas day is fun, it is just the blahs afterward that is bad.
